Our History

In 1947, Elmer Cockey began collecting his neighborhood’s trash in Stevenson, Maryland with only a pick-up truck and his own two hands.

More than 70 years and three generations later, Cockey’s Enterprises, Inc. has steadily grown to become one of the most recognizable and dependable waste removal companies in the Baltimore Metro area.

While we may have expanded our work force, truck fleet, and residential routes over the years; as well as offer competitive commercial and roll-off services, we still strive to provide the same attention to detail, customer satisfaction, and high-quality service that Granddaddy Cockey would be proud of.

Cockey's Enterprises becomes Incorporated and purchases their first Commercial Front End truck.

The first Roll-Off truck is purchased.

The business is relocated from the original family property in Stevenson, MD to a 5-acre commercial property in Halethorpe, MD.
